Your sewer line runs below your property, several feet below the ground. So, what happens if that line needs replacement? How Does Trenchless Technology Work?
As glossed over above, replacing a sewer or drain pipe used to required that the whole area be dug up. After all, how else would the plumber be able to access the pipe? In the event of a replacement, it would have to be dug up across the entire length of the sewer line.
No-dig trenchless technology removes all the headache from this process. Rather than excavating the entire pipe, access holes are dug at both ends of it. A hydraulic pump is placed at one end of the pipe. The pump is then used to pull a pipe burster through the old pipe, breaking it up and making room for a new pipe to be installed. Then, the new pipe is simply pulled in from one side to the other. Just like that, the new pipe is installed and ready to go—it’s that simple.
With the trenchless method, there’s less damage done to the property, the job is done much faster, and there’s much less to clean up. In this day and age, there’s no reason to work with a plumber in Butler County who doesn’t use trenchless technology.
Is It Time for Trenchless Sewer Line Replacement?
Since we can’t see your sewer line, it’s not always easy to tell when it needs replacement. And since you can’t see it, how will you know that there’s anything wrong with it in the first place? Luckily, there are some warning signs to watch out for:
- Toilets, sinks, or showers are frequently backing up.
- Decreases in water pressure.
- Increases in water bills.
- Water is pooling around the yard and emitting a foul odor.
