Combat Wildfire Smoke with a Whole House Air Purifier

Dramatic scene as fog and smoke from a wildfire drape the Flatirons in Boulder Colorado.

Recent wildfires in Canada and the ensuing smoke have created a dangerously high Air Quality Index that affected the air quality of many states across the US. With the increased frequency of wildfires over the years, many homeowners have purchased air purifiers that are designed to clean the air in their homes. However, these portable devices have their shortcomings and aren’t able to clean more than a room at a time.

When it comes to combatting not only wildfire smoke but also poor indoor air quality, the best defense is a good offense. That’s why we recommend the installation of a whole-house air purifier system. One of the systems we install is the UV® APCO®-X from Fresh-Aire, a company that’s committed to providing industry-leading solutions organically, removing harmful pathogens, particulates, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) without introducing any by-products.

Fresh-Aire UV filtration solutions are designed to improve a home’s filtration efficiency by capturing airborne particulates including PM2.5 contaminants. PM2.5 are ultra-fine airborne particles under 2.5 microns in size. These incredibly small particles are small enough to infiltrate your lungs and bloodstream. Wildfire smoke, soot, and ash contain these dangerous ultrafine particles.

The whole house APCO-X system is installed harmoniously with your existing HVAC system. This system is the result of more than a decade of development and is one of the most advanced indoor air treatment systems. It combines UVC light and proprietary activated carbon technology to safely and effectively neutralize odor-causing VOCs and biological contaminants.
